Open post - Anglo-Saxon necklace
The beads you ask? Are made of clay. Yes, clay. My love affair with clay started when I was 8 years old and my best friend Tiffanie and I discovered that you could mold things out of a play dough like substance into the most wonderful shapes and then bake it and it would stay like that forever. Imagine our delight. We decided right then that we were going to be jewelry designers and would sell our new found magic at extravagant prices. Oh, the joys of ignorance and child-like amazement.
While some might mock my child-like glee of using clay, let's not forget its ancient history dating back to more than 5000 years ago.
